Q1 2014 : Smartphone Brands Market Share By US Carriers

According to latest research from Counterpoint’s Market Monitor quarterly tracker program,USA smartphone market reached 33 million unitsat the end of Q1 2014. The smartphone marketgrew a modest 7%annually butnow accounts for more than 87% of the total handset shipments, highest ever.

  • Apple&Samsungtogether captured more thantwo-thirdsof thesmartphonemarket
  • TCL-Alcatelbecame thefourth largest handset supplierandfifth largest smartphone supplierin USA, maninly taking share away from Huawei
  • Androidshare rose to59%of the total smartphone shipped during the quarter &Windows Phonegrew to slightly under4%
  • Three out of foursmartphones shipped during the quarter wereLTE smartphones
  • Apple & Samsungcombined captured more than70% of the LTE shipments
  • In terms ofin-carrier sharefor the brands,Appledominated the big two carriers capturingmore thanhalf of Verizon & AT&T’s smartphoneshipments andmore than a thirdof smartphone shipments atT-Mobile & Sprintrespectively
